2009.05.28-29 - an overview
No boxercise.
Overtime.
Assigned to an After School Program for adults about English Tests.
Rain.
Bread eaten.
Low levels of actual productivity.
And now, on Saturday, it's raining, I cleaned, I drew (very little), and updated my calendar. Cooked too. Listening to Ice Ice Baby because I can't stop listening to it...like a car crash.

Today was a nice, nice day. I stayed in for most of it, but that was precisely what I needed, me thinks. I (almost) finished the commission I'm doing currently, I inked a picture, I made some corrections to a pin-up I'm working on (Storm), I cleaned up my room some, I watched 'She Devil' again, and I just relaxed. I also played a video game, and drunk about 10 cups of tea. It was nice. I put away the kotatsu table blanket, and put up one of the comforter-like blankets and the fuzzy blanket today. Somehow that makes the room seem more...springie. My room is not yet clean, but it seems closer.
A friend came over in the evening, and that was nice. We talked for a little while and did some Japanese studying. After that, we went out for ramen and then we both went to our homes. It was really great to talk to him. He somehow always makes me remember that living in the now is best and that no matter how lost I am feeling it's okay. I have a great job that I love and so a little confusion about where I'll be in 10 years is okay.
It was an overall nice day. I enjoyed it. I hope tomorrow is also a nice day.

Elementary school today. I just wasn't in the mood for it today. Luckily it did get a bit better. I found that I enjoyed the male teachers' classes more. They seemed more lively and I appreciate the loud classes - they give you more to work with. Quiet classes are just that - QUIET. At least the loud ones give you a chance to have verbal exchange...some of which is hopefully along the lines of what you wanted to teach. Of course I'm not actually a real teacher. I've only had a few classes to myself, made activities, and spoken. Perhaps if I did more of that grammar teaching it's be a different story, but I have a feeling it wouldn't.
I realized today that if I learned 2 kanji a day from now until the end of May that I'd only learn about 232. Not enough for the JLPT but about 232 more than I know now. I should really get on that. My studying has been almost nonexistent lately. Ant it's not like I don't need to study. I do. A lot. I just need to get into the habit of studying again. I'm never going to achieve my goals unless I buckle down and get serious...serious about about stuff that I should be serious about. Like bar tending. Gotta learn how to make them drinks. Maybe barista-ing. I'm a man of few talents. It's time I made it a few more.
I did get to go to an 1-nen sei class. It was good. I enjoyed it. I found a book in the classroom that I might want to try out...assuming I can find it for ¥100.
Waited for the bus, as one is supposed to do when they want to ride it. I sent out a giant text about Saturday. It's out there now. There's going to be a party at my place, and it's gonna be fun. A PS is involved, so it has to be fun. It's an unwritten rule. Which means that I besta get my apartment in line...
Came home and did a bang-up job on the cleaning. It's not 100% complete, but it's at least at 90%. AT LEAST. I'm proud of myself for this. Granted, it'll be messy within a week, but that is not the point. The point is that at at least one point in time while I lived here, the apartment was clean and orderly. I also did some laundry. Yeah for laundry! Had to wash them gym clothes.
Useless Japanese Word of the day: nanji: thee. It also means 'what time?' if you make it questioning at the end. Oh yeah. I learned that word from a video game. Yeah for video games.

Yup. Definitely sick. I better be just peachy tomorrow mornin' 'cause I ain't takin' time offa work for a lousy cold that seems to be only affecting my nose. I'm still rather stuffy, but otherwise doing pretty fine. I really didn't do anything today. I woke up, blew my nose some, made breakfast while blowing my nose, ate it, blew my nose, did other things that I'm not sure about but I know involved blowing my nose, eventually made some kind of lunch, need more things while blowing my nose, and made dinner. While/after typing this I'm sure there will be nose blowing. But, a thing of note, I did clean/organize my room some. I got my bookshelf in a nice place where hopefully it won't kill me in the even of an earthquake while I'm at my desk. Hey. Did you know that Sendai is due for a giant earthquake? Yeah, I haven't really told many people that 'cause it might scare them. Personally a level 7 earthquake on the Japanese scale is pretty damn scary. You remember that giant Kobe earthquake years ago? Yeah, I think that was a 7. And I still don't have my earthquake kit prepared. I have 2 2 liter bottles filled with water and that is it. And I have that mostly 'cause I have the bottles and felt like it. But, on a good note, I also got a bin to put all me unmentionables in, and they are in it now. Well, except for the dirty ones/ones in use/ones that aren't 'cause they just aren't. Just a couple of more containers and things and my room will be organized. Just gotta work on some decorations. As it is, I have a calendar hanging on the wall, as well as a couple of bras (don't ask, the room comes with one wall that has movable hooks). I think I can do better than that. But, taking it slowly as to not buy more than I need and so I don't wind up with no money. Although, tomorrow you better believe that I'm buyin' me some OJ...I ran out. I'm down to tea, water, and vodka. And I highly doubt the Vodka is what I should be drinking. Yup, I think I'll be fine for school tomorrow. I'm down to one throat drop thing, but I can get some tomorrow from the Kyuukyuu on my way to the bus stop. I'm probably gonna be picking up some fruit like drink to take to work with me anyway, so I might as well so that as well.
Still feeding the cold, so I'm off to finish the egg fried rice I made.
